Design Inspiration:
This brooch celebrates dyslexic skills/talents.
In 1877 Rudolph Berlin coined the term dyslexia to describe ‘Difficulty with words’. Many believed individuals with this problem had ‘Physical changes in the brain’, ‘Wired differently.’
Dyslexic individuals with ‘increased neural activity and connectivity’ have greater ability to learn through experiences, recalling information with more efficiency.
Visual thinking, creativity, imagination, spatial reasoning and problem solving are five key attributes that help in many areas of personal development.
Varied lengths of ‘jumbled up’ wire pathways mimic the more unusual image reasoning skills punctuated with 5 Indicolite Tourmalines collecting light, sparkling and shimmering as they send the message onwards to its final ‘lightbulb’ moment with the Topaz gemstone.
The strong pin represents the unyielding support for this learning disorder creating a solid platform on which to build, develop and overcome everyday obstacles.
